Editorial Introduction to Volume 3, Issue 1

Abstract

This editorial introduction celebrates the release of volume three, issue one of the Journal of Critical Study of Communication and Disability (JCSCD), which marks a two-year milestone since the inaugural publication of the journal. We express gratitude for the contributions of the first cohort of editorial board members, authors, reviewers, interns, digital publishing librarian, and interns who made this accomplishment possible. We extend a special thank you to Dr. Yvette Hyter as she ends her service as a co-managing editor. We discuss the evolution and future directions of JCSCD as a dynamic meeting ground for scholars from a wide-ranging and intersectional array of fields with a shared commitment to justice, access, and dignity for all bodyminds and languaging practices.

Keywords: Disability studies, speech-language pathology, Deaf studies, critical applied linguistics, audiology, decolonial studies, critical race theory, languaging bodyminds, editorial board, journal milestone
